India’s thermal coal imports decreased for the sixth consecutive month in February, mainly due to slowed manufacturing activity and increased domestic production. Imports fell by 15.3% to 12.16 million metric tons. While coal consumption is expected to rise during the summer months, it might not boost imports significantly due to growing domestic output.
