Government rolls out mandatory quality norms for solder wires

The Indian government has introduced mandatory quality norms for solder wires used in the electronics and engineering industry. The move aims to curb the import of sub-standard goods and promote domestic manufacturing. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) issued a notification stating that solder wires must bear the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) mark to be produced, sold, traded, imported, or stocked.
