India’s leading gas firm, GAIL, has conducted the world’s first ship-to-ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) transfer to reduce shipping costs and cut emissions. GAIL, which has contracted 5.8 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the US, implemented an innovative contractual arrangement to optimize vessel paths, resulting in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

A second Chinese vessel carrying a ship-to-shore crane for the Vizhinjam international deep-sea facility in Kerala has docked at the port. The ship, Zhen Hua 29, received clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to berth, arriving on November 9.
