India’s palm oil and sunflower oil imports reached record highs in 2022/23 due to a rebound in consumption and a steep discount compared to rival soyoil. The country’s largest importer of vegetable oils, India, bought palm oil mainly from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, while soyoil imports fell 12% to 3.68 million tons.
