‘India eyes a third of global seaborne trade by 2047’: Sarbananda Sonowal

India is set to significantly boost its maritime presence. The nation plans to handle one-third of global seaborne trade by 2047. This ambitious goal will be achieved through a fourfold increase in port capacity and the development of mega ports. Current port capacity has already doubled in the last decade. Inland waterways cargo transport has also seen substantial growth.
