Singapore expressed gratitude towards India for exempting it from the rice ban. The Singapore Embassy in India thanked the Indian government for the “gesture of strong friendship” through a tweet. India recently decided to allow the export of rice to Singapore to meet its food security requirements. The ban on the export of non-basmati white rice was implemented to prevent misclassification and illegal exports.
